My favorite project I completed this semester is definitely Chikamatsu Simplified. While I was really proud of my designs for Death and The King’s Horseman, I feel like the video was a bit easier and more fun to make. However, both projects allowed me to express my creativity in different ways. I’m overall just more proud of what I was able to create with the video — I feel like it’s really good quality. I struggled with some aspects of it, but I had more fun than I did with the designs. Theatre design is hard work, and it’s meant to be split up amongst multiple people, so for me it was difficult to make it of good quality while also not giving myself the work of four different people. I didn’t have that issue with the video. It was hard work, yes, but not too much where I was worried about quality vs. quantity.
